00:04 from across the Northwest this Wednesday. A 16 year old boy and a man in his 20s

00:09 have been arrested after a teenage girl was raped in Preston. Lancashire Police

00:14 said the teenager was sexually assaulted in a wooded area off London Road on

00:18 Sunday evening. In a statement the police have urged anyone with information to

00:22 contact 101. A new family-run lounge bar which promises to bring back the good

00:28 times is set to open in Blackpool. Schofield's lounge bar Blackpool will

00:32 feature live music, regular quiz night and a scheduled happy hour. The bar

00:37 teased on their Facebook that an opening date will be announced soon. Three men

00:42 have been charged with terror offences after police carried out raids in Wigan

00:46 and Bolton. 36 year old Waleed Sadawi and 50 year old Ammar Hussain have been

00:53 charged with preparation of terrorist acts. Whilst 35 year old Bilal Sadawi has

00:59 also been charged. This was with failure to disclose information about an act of

01:05 terrorism. A former news agent who ran a shop in Padiham Road in Burnley celebrated

01:13 his 100th birthday this week. Norman Swain saw family and friends from across

01:19 the globe join him for a party at the Fence Gate Inn to mark his

01:26 landmark birthday. His grandson Charlie said he is very respected, loved, he's a

01:33 special person and he's already looking forward to celebrate his 101st birthday.

01:40 Lancaster City Council have refused planning permission for a second time

01:45 for a scheme that would have seen 108 new homes be built in Galgate. The council

01:52 first refused the scheme in March 2023 on grounds such as highway impact and

01:58 flooding concerns. Despite an appeal by proposers Wayne Homes Limited, the plans

02:03 have yet again been rejected with the council citing the same reasons as the

02:08 first rejection. And finally the weather. There will mainly be cloudy skies

02:14 today and a few light showers to start. Later in the afternoon we'll see a few
