Hello and welcome back.
00:17
It's been a glorious sunshine this weekend.
00:20
We've even had the northern lights here for the pier skies.
00:23
So today what I'm going to do is I'm going to be stacking pots.
00:30
I've got six of them.
00:32
I'm going to be filling them and doing some window boxes as well.
00:36
And I'll just show you the different pots that I've been growing from seed that I'm going to be putting in here.
00:41
So, the stacker boxes I'm going to...
00:46
These are some neon colours, bright orange colour.
00:50
And here we have Hanses.
00:57
Let's see now.
00:59
They've come on great this past few weeks.
01:04
These are Brie Treland Lobelia.
01:10
And here...
01:15
I have some Amari Golds I planted about eight weeks ago.
01:20
And there, you can see there, there's little flower heads now coming on them.
01:24
So they need to be out of these cell trays and in the pots.
01:29
[Birds chirping]
01:36
And finally, after about nine weeks of doing very little,
01:45
these are Treland petunias which have now taken off.
01:50
And just that bud here, that was from a little mother's for them.
01:55
And some of these have been gone too, and they've all had those nights as well.
02:00
So I think that's everything. I have a few nights in, but the clock says I'll have a Monday planting.
02:08
So what I'll be doing is, on the top layer of this, I'll be planting upright plants,
02:15
and then a few Treland plants along the sides.
02:19
I had some plant strawberries too, I was going to use these for it, but they're not up, they're still very tiny,
02:25
so I'm not going to use them anymore, just three Alpine strawberries.
02:30
So we'll get started then.
02:33
[Birds chirping]
02:41
So for the soil, I'm using a mix of tarp soil and just multipurpose compost.
02:48
Multipurpose compost is what helps with the difference in nutrients,
02:55
keeps the plants away from the wind, and the wind won't explode here, and actually the camera away from it.
03:01
I'm going to go a couple over to the bottom, there's a lot of sand in this as well.
03:11
I'll start with the window box.
03:18
[Birds chirping]
03:30
Most of this wall is compost, but I only have one small bag of tarp soil.
03:36
You may be able to see behind me, I'll use a rotator to dig out part of the garden here,
03:42
or I'll give you a follow-up video on that next week.
03:46
I've got quite a lot of plants in there, it'll be interesting to see how they see if the slopes attack.
03:55
I was saying last week that I haven't had any more of the slopes,
04:00
there's a lot of copper tape around the pots and stuff, but I haven't seen any about the garden this year.
04:07
I know a lot of you have, and your garden is still in good shape.
04:12
I'll see if they survive, I'll try those after being sure it's perfect.
04:19
I'm hooking up that spot now, it's a bit of a shock for them, whenever they're going under the ground for the first time.
04:26
[Birds chirping]
04:45
Almost bumped it.
04:47
[Birds chirping]
04:59
I'll be using around three, or else I have a big one, so three of these will go.
05:06
And maybe two along the sides, I'm not sure how those will feel.
05:10
[Birds chirping]
05:23
I'll fill it up, if you want to leave some for watering, they'll plant some seeds.
05:29
First up, I'm going to put some pansies in, and see if they will allow me to come up.
05:42
They all need transplanted, I had around, I think there was nearly 100 of these, for one pack of the seeds.
05:50
These are giant Swiss pansies, so they have quite big flowers on them, I don't know what colours they want to be.
06:00
So we'll presently see how it all looks when it's starting to flower.
06:08
I'm going to plant, because I have so much of these, I'm going to plant three in here.
06:14
[Birds chirping]
06:21
And I'm putting them along the back, because at the front I want the others to trade over.
06:31
And these will stand upright, give the background bright colours.
06:36
And they will spread out and branch out and I don't know where. They're in a few weeks.
06:44
[Birds chirping]
06:52
I was actually thinking of dumping these next, so we'll get maybe two of these out.
07:02
[Birds chirping]
07:09
Tiny, tiny seeds. This one will be around for a few weeks on end.
07:13
But that's a good root ball on it.
07:16
[Birds chirping]
07:24
Just one down the other front, so they'll drop down.
07:28
[Applause]
07:35
A little bit more soil on this part.
07:38
[Birds chirping]
07:46
And that's that.
07:48
I usually over-full them, over-crowd them, but everything seems to come on ground
07:53
and it's back to the competition, so you can make them bloom more.
07:57
Next I want some sweet of the sun, these are tiny white flowers.
08:04
[Birds chirping]
08:06
I've said before, white needs to be on top.
08:10
These are the out of our late planted.
08:13
They haven't come on as well as everything else, but they're hardy.
08:19
These flowers, when they bring intake, love them.
08:23
[Birds chirping]
08:25
Not big enough pollen, it isn't.
08:28
One on each side, and then I'm going to put a few blue Liberia.
08:33
[Birds chirping]
08:39
And these were another fairly successful plant in terms of germination.
08:48
These will come out and trail down the side as well.
08:53
I've got a lot of these, so I'm just going to head them in.
09:00
[Birds chirping]
09:16
I've got a thunder today, so we'll see how things go.
09:22
That is that one done.
09:26
Interesting how they see the different colour combinations they come out of that.
09:31
Hopefully it's not all the same colour.
09:34
[Clears throat]
09:36
That one in the back is done.
09:40
And now, these are Snacker pots.
09:46
You can find them sometimes in a tiny shop in the local town.
09:49
I can't find each.
09:52
You can get these online, but they didn't have holes, so I had to drill some holes in them.
09:57
The same again, I'm going to do not just shoot it, but put two here.
10:04
[Birds chirping]
10:29
I'm not sure how this will end up looking, but it would be really nice if all the plants come on.
10:45
I can't do the leaves, it's just puffed with the compost.
10:49
They're probably staying on the compost.
10:53
It will come on a lot better if you have more soil just in the pots themselves.
11:02
It's important not to overfill these, I think.
11:05
You have to stack another one on top, especially in the middle there.
11:11
So that will probably do it.
11:15
I'm going to put that down here.
11:23
You can play around with these things as well, because you have 18 pots.
11:29
If one thing doesn't work, something else might.
11:33
There's some blue over there, and this one.
11:40
And then, the white over here.
11:51
This one right here.
11:56
And then, I'm not sure what to put in the next one.
12:04
I'm going to put this in.
12:14
That looks like nothing now, but if I take off, they should fall out.
12:20
All over the blue one.
12:22
These will be all bright.
12:24
Then you can open it and put it straight on.
12:29
This one is a tough one, because I'll definitely have more plants in it.
12:45
And this will be all grape plants, if you want them to keep over the top.
13:14
It's great to get a few sunny days, so you can plant a few things outdoors.
13:24
It's just got everything wrong so much.
13:29
I did a photo of what I've done here, next week.
13:33
There's probably some plants coming on.
13:37
I'll probably get things in the ground too.
13:40
In the past few months, my horse has been overtaken by plants.
13:45
And constantly running out of pots and changing things around.
13:49
Right, this is the top level.
13:52
I'll put it out here.
13:56
And then I will,
14:00
I'll put it all the way up.
14:29
This is close.
14:31
A lot of roots on these.
14:33
I hope these take off.
14:35
I'm a little loose on these ends.
15:03
You can play around with this, and if someone doesn't take, you can always switch it out.
15:10
If you have a lot of different things.
15:13
And one of the ones I did want from the sender was a neon marigold.
15:19
And a bright bright orange.
15:22
And these are the longer trainers, because I need a lot of those.
15:28
These aren't awful, but
15:31
one of these will naturally be the closest.
15:37
I'll just put it in a little bit.
15:41
Just tidy.
15:48
That should come up here.
15:56
That should be better.
15:59
That should be fine now for the top layer.
16:02
These are all, as I say, upright.
16:04
These will push up, and then the ones below, maybe they could fall down and cascade over the side.
16:10
I'll just show you how they work.
16:14
You just sit one on the other.
16:16
And that's basically it.
16:18
And I've got six of these, so I'll stack them up.
16:21
And then, put them out the front for water each, and then put them at the top.
16:26
That's the way that works.
