Alice Faye, born Alice Jeane Leppert (New York, May 5, 1915 – Rancho Mirage, May 9, 1998), was an American actress and singer. Star of 20th Century Fox, her name is often associated with the Oscar-winning song You' ll Never Know, which she sang for the first time in the musical Old San Francisco (1943), a film that won the Oscar for best song in 1944. In 1939, with another of her films, The Great White Road, she won the Oscar for best soundtrack. She is also remembered as her husband Phil Harris' partner in radio shows. She first married singer Tony Martin in 1937 and divorced him in 1940. The following year she married actor and musician Phil Harris. The marriage lasted until his death in 1995.
