Johor police want the public to stop speculating on the attack involving Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) midfielder Safiq Rahim so they can investigate the matter in-depth.

State police chief Comm M. Kumar told reporters after the state police contingent Hari Raya Open House on Wednesday (May 8) that the attack was an isolated incident unrelated to cases involving football players in other states.

He added that police will also take extra precautions for the Charity Shield match between Selangor and JDT at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on Friday, adding that more than 1,500 officers and policemen will be deployed during the game to ensure safety and traffic flow.
