00:00We have to go down on the farm now.
00:04We have no choice.
00:05So let's do it.
00:06And the obvious place to start is with the Baltimore Orioles organization.
00:09This team, I think could field a team of 22 and unders that could beat or compete with
00:16teams like the White Sox and the Marlins, and that's either concerning or an ability
00:21to take advantage of a profit.
00:23What do you think?
00:24Yeah, I think they're going to have to deal with some of these prospects at some point
00:26because there's just no room at the end.
00:28And they're going to need more starting pitching.
00:30I know John Means came back yesterday and he had a good performance.
00:33Kyle Braddish came back.
00:34So that's good.
00:35But he did lose Grayson Rodriguez this week, too.
00:38So maybe you keep an eye on a guy like Cade Povich in that system also.
00:41But you're right.
00:42This Norfolk team from an offensive standpoint has just been unbelievable.
00:44Now it's been frustrating because for all this hype around Baltimore, Jackson Holiday
00:50didn't make the team.
00:52Everybody was yelling and screaming because he was so good at AAA, gets called up, was
00:56dreadful, gets sent down, Kierstad gets called up.
01:00He was brilliant at Norfolk.
01:02What happened?
01:03He's just sitting on the bench, basically, which was my worst nightmare.
01:05And I warned everybody that might happen.
01:06I didn't think it was going to happen as much as it has.
01:08So that's been extremely frustrating.
01:10And then there's Kobe Mayo, who's the other guy of this trio who still continues to just
01:16rake at Norfolk and AAA.
01:18You look at these stats, the power numbers off the chart here, 11 homers, 31 RBI.
01:24He scored 24 runs.
01:25He even has got three stolen bases just for measure.
01:30And he's hitting 333 with a 397 OPP and a 1080 OPS.
01:34So Kobe Mayo, again, nothing left to prove here at the AAA level.
01:39So how does he break in?
01:40I think the best way is you call him up, you let him play third base, you move Westbrook
01:44over to second base.
01:46And I think that's probably the solution to the problems.
01:49Now I understand Colton Cows, there's another guy that's played very well.
01:53Ryan Mountcastle is kind of solidified in that DH spot or first base, depending on where
01:57you want to play in most days.
01:58So again, it becomes a very tricky puzzle.
02:01Gunnar Henderson's been brilliant.
02:02You know, you're not moving on from him anytime soon in his spot.
02:05That's for sure.
02:06He's an MVP caliber guy.
02:07So you're going to leave him wherever he's most comfortable, but you're going to have
02:09to find some ways to work in some of this talent.
02:12Otherwise, you got to find ways for this talent to go other places to bring in guys that can
02:16help you, whether it be a closer, whether it be, well, they have that kind of locked
02:20in here with Kimbrough now, but still like you're looking at an Orioles team, although
02:24maybe we don't.
02:25It's a good point, Matt.
02:27I think that the Orioles are in a really interesting spot.
02:30They are an embarrassment of riches when it comes to minor league talent.
02:33The question is right now, how do you utilize that talent to the best of its ability?
02:36And when you're looking to win a division, how much patience do you have at the major
02:40league level for these prospects?
02:42That's been the problem so far.
02:44They haven't shown much patience for that.
02:45I know they showed some with Jackson Holiday, but in my opinion, not enough.
02:49They couldn't let the kid go a little bit.
02:50I'm sure he would have figured things out instead of yo-yoing up and down between the
02:53major leagues and AAA.
02:55So that's an unfortunate set of circumstances.
02:56But at the same time, as they say, it is what it is, but Baltimore has a lot of exciting
03:02guys coming in.
03:03Kobe Mayo will be up eventually.
03:05So he might be a guy in deeper leagues you should be stashing right now.
