Benjamin (Ben) Evans takes the Merry Hill Seat for Labour. This was a Conservative seat and was the one and only gain in the Wolverhampton elections today.

00:27 What this tells me is that we're doing things right in Wolverhampton,

00:30 but what we need to do is make sure that we call for a general election as soon as possible.

00:35 I think the national picture dictates that the electorate do need a change,

00:39 and we're giving that change by calling a general election.

00:42 I want to congratulate Ben for doing such a sterling work,

00:45 and he'll be a great advocate for Meriel.

00:50 And you're bringing some young blood to the party Ben, how old are you?

01:28 I want to thank Councillor Cowher-Hyde who couldn't be here today because her husband's ill,

01:33 and I want to say I will work hard for everyone in Merrihill.

01:39 I mean do you go home from this and get a bed you shattered, or do you kind of have a point?

01:46 So the first thing I'm going to do is deal with those blisters.
