00:43This sacrifice of teachers will be recognized by the Education Department.

00:48Based on the Department Order No. 005 issued by the DepEd,

00:52the Department of Supervision and Overload Pay will be given to teachers.

00:58This additional compensation will be recognized by the DepEd to the teachers

01:03who are included in Republic Act No. 4670 or the Magna Carta for Public School Teachers.

01:09According to the DO, teacher overload pay is for teachers who teach more than 30 hours a week

01:16or six hours a day of actual teaching.

01:19So it's only right that they receive at least 25% of their salary.

01:24But teachers should not exceed two hours of teaching overload in one day.

01:29This includes full-time teachers, permanent, provisional, or in substitute status

01:35in public elementary and secondary schools.

01:38Maybe it's high time for us teachers to be given the right salary or right compensation

01:52so that we can be motivated to do our job better.

01:59The Teachers' Dignity Coalition also recognized the impact of this by the DepEd,

02:03especially since the Department of Supervision and Overload Pay will be given to teachers.

02:08However, the group is concerned.

02:10This may be the reason for the Department of Supervision and Overload Pay to require teachers

02:14to maximize six hours of teaching,

02:17while the DepEd orders for four to five hours of actual teaching.

02:23I hope that the doubts and worries of the teachers in regards to this DepEd Order No. 5

02:31that was issued by the Department of Supervision and Overload Pay

02:33can be resolved through an open dialogue.

02:37I hope that it will be resolved immediately, within next week, before it is fully implemented.

02:43Of course, we know that we will be entering the new school year.

02:55thanked the Department of Supervision and Overload Pay.

02:57This DepEd Order No. 5 is a success for our teachers

03:03because for a long time, the Magna Carta for Public School Teachers was issued in 1966.

03:09There were provisions for overload and overtime pay that were not implemented by the DepEd.

03:16So, we will monitor the implementation of this.

03:19There should be no misinterpretations.

03:24The Department of Supervision and Overload Pay also issued an order

03:26to increase the workload of teachers following their departure from their administrative tasks.

03:31According to the Department of Supervision and Overload Pay,

03:32the teachers should google six hours of actual teaching,

03:36while the other two hours are for ancillary tasks that can be done inside or outside the school.
