Wolverhampton singer-songwriter releases country inspired single

Ryan Evans from Perton, Wolverhampton has just released his latest single. We catch him at regular gig venue for him, Rodeoo, to find out how country music and the storytelling nature of it is inspiring him in his own musical journey.

00:24 This is really floating your boat isn't it, this country vibe at the minute, just fill us in on what it is that's drawing you in.

00:29 It's doing more than floating my boat, it's got me, I love country music, I'm digging my heels deep into it, literally.

00:36 And it's the storytelling of the songs and the honesty and the rawness of all the songs I'm hearing.

00:46 Especially the modern stuff as well, I'm loving that.

00:49 So you've had a few songs out in the past, have you noticed in your song writing then, your style's kind of changing a little bit?

00:56 Oh definitely yeah, I've always been honest writing songs, but with the country music it's just a different level.

01:05 People's reaction as well.

01:07 Well yeah people are loving it at the minute aren't they, we're here at Rodeo's and this place gets rammed doesn't it.

01:12 This place is one of the best venues in the UK, great food, great music.

01:17 And you were saying you've got people coming up and they're travelling from all over the place aren't they to get here.

01:22 People travelling from Kent, stopping in hotels.

01:25 Rodeo's is thriving, it's unreal.

01:28 It's still no strangers to Shrewsbury, you've always had a decent following over there and you've just done a really big gig at the year.

01:35 But the market, how did that go?

01:37 That was class yeah, people were really digging it.

01:39 And that was the full on country style vibe?

01:42 Yeah that was, a bit more with the backing and crowd participation.

01:48 So shall we hear, I know if people want to hear the full version, the lecky version and all that.

01:55 It's a stripped back acoustic so I'll insert.
