00:00 Do you think school adequately prepares kids for the real world?
00:06 Well they say it does but I'm not so sure. I think they were more prepared when I was going to school, which is a long time ago.
00:15 I teach them more about real life. I work with children in care.
00:19 So they've generally dropped out of school but I've also got two steppies that came through school
00:26 and they don't know anything about the real world once I finish. It's exams, exams, exams.
00:31 They don't have the same values these days and everybody's too busy with mobiles and things.
00:38 So I would have at least some lessons on just the real world. Paying bills.
00:45 What do you think of this 12 hour school day?
00:47 What? The school kids wouldn't like it.
00:52 The time at school was too long for those because we always wanted to be doing something else.
00:57 But I suppose it would have its benefits, yeah.
