Justin Herbert threw four touchdown passes in his Monday Night Football debut but that didn't stop Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints from rallying from 17 down to beat the Los Angeles Chargers.

00:00The Chargers may have found their franchise quarterback as Justin Herbert threw for four touchdowns in his Monday Night Football debut,
00:06but the Saints rallied from 17 down to get the win.
00:10I'm here with Bill Enright now, and Bill, whose performance was more impressive, Herbert or was it Breeze in leading that comeback?
00:17I'm going to go with Justin Herbert. Monster game for the rookie quarterback making just his fourth career start.
00:23How many touchdowns did he throw against the Saints?
00:25Les asked Tom Brady. That's right, four of them.
00:29Four is a number going around a lot lately, right?
00:31It certainly is, Robin. 7.76 yards per attempt without Keenan Allen.
00:37Breeze only had 6.91 yards per attempt. One measly touchdown. Look at these stats.
00:42Herbert clearly had a better game than Drew Breeze, and he also gave his team a 20-3 lead,
00:49and he did it without all-pro wide receiver Keenan Allen for three quarters.
00:54And perhaps one of the best running backs in the league at catching passes, Austin Eckler.
00:59Justin Herbert was throwing to guys like second-year wide receiver Jalen Guyland.
01:03Who is this guy? Third-string running back Justin Jackson. Old man Breeze.
01:09I'm not saying you're wrong, Bill. You know, I'm not saying you're wrong, but let me make the case for Breeze for a second here,
01:13because here's the thing. People were starting to say, where's Jameis Winston, right?
01:17Like, they were ready to move on and put Drew Breeze in the broadcast booth,
01:21and at least he was able to come back and win that game.
01:24You know, Taysom Hill, Jameis Winston, Drew Breeze. Who's the best QB on the Saints?
01:29Those are the questions being asked. So I'll give, you know, grading on that curve,
01:33because I do think Drew Breeze has passed his prime.
01:36The fact that he silenced all that by leading the comeback gives him the W in my mind.
01:42To me, I don't think it's a matter of Justin Herbert versus Drew Breeze.
01:46It's a matter of Justin Herbert against the entire NFL,
01:48because he was the most impressive quarterback in all of Week 5 across the National Football League.
01:53More touchdown passes than MVP candidates like Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson, Lamar Jackson.
02:00Herbert had four of them. I think it's more impressive for what he did,
02:04even though it was a loss, just his fourth start as a rookie quarterback in the NFL,
02:08and he's doing it without some of his top playmakers.
02:11Yeah, I mean, he's definitely been impressive thus far on this season,
02:15but the Saints keep, you know, their season going the way that they want to
02:19behind that second-half performance.
02:23you
