00:00 Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests and all members of this community.
00:08 As we gather here today under the solemn gaze of history, we do so not merely to mark the
00:14 date on the calendar, but to honour the timeless spirit of courage and mateship and sacrifice
00:20 that defines Anzac Day.
00:22 This day holds profound significance in our national identity, serving as a poignant reminder
00:28 of the extraordinary sacrifices made by generations of Australians in conflicts, wars and peacekeeping
00:35 missions around the world.
00:37 As we reflect on the sacrifices made by the Anzacs, their families and communities, we
00:42 must remember the true cost of conflicts and war, not only on the soldiers and the service
00:47 personnel, but the civilians and ordinary people caught in it.
00:51 Today we honour the memory of those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom, and we
00:56 pledge never to take their sacrifices for granted.
01:00 Let us strive to build a world worthy of their courage and sacrifice, a world where peace
01:04 and understanding reign supreme.
01:07 In closing, let us never forget the enduring legacy of the Anzacs, and carry forward their
01:13 legacy in our hearts and minds, drawing inspiration from their example as we confront the challenges
01:19 of the modern world.

01:26 honour their memory while striving for a better and safer tomorrow.
