00:00could be forgiven for concluding that the truth of the matter is that ministers have been deliberately
00:05stringing this out for two reasons. Firstly, because they thought that they could make some
00:10grubby political capital from the delay, and secondly because they've been scrambling to get
00:15a flight organised and all the other logistics that are not in place. Indeed, the Prime Minister
00:21admitted this in his somewhat whinging and butt-passing press conference this morning,
00:26that the first flight to Rwanda won't take off until, checks notes, July. I mean July,
00:32really. Today is the 22nd of April. We were initially told that this was emergency legislation,
00:38and yet we're now being told that there'll be a 10 to 12 week delay in getting the first flight
00:42off the ground. Madam Deputy Speaker, I don't know about what your definition of an emergency is,
00:49but a 10 to 12 week response time does seem to be a bit of a stretch.
