ನನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಅಂತಿಮ ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗಿಯಾಗಲು ಸಹ ನನಗೆ ಪೆರೋಲ್ ಸಿಗಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ತಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದ ವಿಷಾದದ ಘಟನೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಸಚಿವ ರಾಜನಾಥ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ (Rajnath Singh) ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 1975ರಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗಿನ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಇಂದಿರಾಗಾಂಧಿ ಅವರು ಹೇರಿದ್ದ ತುರ್ತು ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯ ಕುರಿತು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಸಚಿವರು ವಾಗ್ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said about the regrettable incident in his life that he did not get parole even to participate in the last rites of my mother. In 1975, the Minister lashed out at the Congress Party over the Emergency imposed by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
