00:00 New details emerge about life with disgraced YouTuber Ruby Frankie.
00:05 The Washington County Attorney's Office in Utah has released an interview with Kevin Frankie,
00:10 the influencer's estranged husband, conducted after her arrest on child abuse charges in August.
00:17 While speaking to authorities, Kevin details how Ruby expected him to behave
00:22 while the pair, then separated, were living under the same roof.
00:26 He says it was during this time that Ruby's business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt,
00:31 who was also arrested for child abuse, had moved in with them.
00:35 He alleges, "There were all these rules now placed on me, like I can leave when I want,
00:41 but I couldn't come back until Ruby gave me permission," adding,
00:44 "I couldn't come into the kitchen to eat until Ruby gave me permission,
00:48 and the upstairs where Jodi was was completely offline.
00:52 I couldn't go upstairs anymore in my own house."
00:54 He adds, "Ruby would dictate all of the terms of how our interactions would be,
00:58 when we would talk, and that was hard."
01:01 E! News has previously reached out to Kevin, Ruby, and Jodi's lawyers for comment
01:06 regarding his interview, but has not yet heard back.
01:09 In the same interview, Kevin also shared how Ruby, with whom he shares six kids,
01:14 first became involved in what he described as a religious cult named Connections,
01:19 which Jodi established as a life coaching service in 2007.
01:24 According to NBC News, Connections was based on principles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
01:31 When Jodi subsequently moved in with their family in 2021, Kevin remembers Jodi and Ruby
01:37 started sleeping in the same bed.
01:39 He said Ruby started having "trances" where she "believed that she was going to heaven
01:45 and seeing God and Jesus and talking with them."
01:48 Eventually, Kevin decided he wanted to move on with life, and he and Ruby got an in-home separation
01:54 before he filed for divorce this past December.
01:57 His lawyer said in a September interview that the pair had been living apart for more than a year
02:02 before Ruby's August arrest.
02:04 Ruby and Jodi were ultimately arrested after Ruby's 12-year-old son sought help from a neighbor,
02:09 leading authorities to find his 10-year-old sister at Ruby's home.
02:13 According to a case summary from the Washington County Attorney's Office,
02:17 both children were emaciated and in need of care upon their discovery.
02:22 In December, both Ruby and Jodi pleaded guilty to four counts of child abuse as part of a plea deal,
02:28 and in February, both were sentenced to four to 30 years in prison.
02:32 During her sentencing hearing, which was streamed live, Ruby apologized to her husband and children,
02:39 saying, "For the past four years, I've chosen to follow counsel and guidance that has led me into a dark delusion.
02:47 My distorted version of reality went largely unchecked as I would isolate from anyone who challenged me."
