Trump's Appeal Bond in Civil Fraud Case Denied as Chubb Backs Out and Deadline Looms
  • last month
Donald Trump and his co-defendants were in talks with Chubb for a $464 million appeal bond in his New York civil fraud case, but the company backed out. Chubb previously provided Trump a $91.6 million appeal bond in writer E. Jean Carroll's defamation case against him. Trump's lawyers said they reached out unsuccessfully to over 30 companies for the new bond, including Berkshire Hathaway, Liberty Mutual, and Allianz. Trump must post a bond to pause the fraud judgment while appealing, or the AG can start seizing his assets next week.
