00:21 no longer fits the needs of Israel after October 7th. The world has changed radically since

00:29 then and the Israeli people are being stifled right now by a governing vision that has stuck

00:37 He's not the first Democrat to condemn Netanyahu's leadership and Biden's warnings have been

00:43 well documented. But his speech amounts to the sharpest critique yet from a senior US

00:47 elected official. As the highest ranking Jewish official in the country, he'd so far positioned

00:53 himself as a strong ally of the Israeli government. Netanyahu's party was quick to respond.

00:59 Israel is an independent and proud democracy that elected Prime Minister Netanyahu, not

01:03 a banana republic. Contrary to Schumer's words, the Israeli republic supports a complete victory

01:09 over Hamas, rejects any international dictates to establish a Palestinian terrorist state

01:15 and opposes the return of the Palestinian Authority to Gaza.

01:19 Americans overwhelmingly saw Hamas' attack on the 7th of October as horrific, but an

01:24 AP poll from late January found that half of Americans thought Israel's military campaign

01:28 had now gone too far. The US still supplies Israel with weapons, but with the presidential

01:33 election coming up, unwavering support for Israel could alienate part of Biden's electoral
