The European Union has opened an investigation into Alibaba over alleged illegal content on the platform. The EU's European Commission is looking into whether the Chinese based e-commerce retailer Ali Express violated it's new digital services act. The commission will investigate whether Alibaba cracked down hard enough on illegal products and services and whether minors can access pornographic materials on the platform. The investigation will also look into Alibaba's product recommendations and ads.
