00:12 I was told by my feng shui for the year of the wooden or the wood dragon.

00:17 Oh really? I thought it was a bad number.

00:19 No, it's lucky this year.

00:23 But why after seven years?

00:27 How did you decide to do the renewal of vows?

00:31 We were planning to do it on our fifth year.

00:33 Yes.

00:34 Some do it.

00:35 No, because after a year of being married,

00:39 we were both okay already with our parents and she wanted to do it with both.

00:45 Actually, like three or four months after the wedding, we were okay.

00:49 So I felt that I wanted to get married right away because my dad and my mom,

00:53 they're not getting any younger so I wanted to kind of immortalize that moment.

00:58 But it didn't happen so it eventually did.

01:02 So it should be on the fifth and then last year, eighth,

01:05 it finally came into fruition because the dress arrived on the ninth year.

01:13 But your mom said it's good.

01:15 Nine years too late but I made it still.

01:18 Yes.

01:19 I was very happy that she was there.

01:21 Actually, my dad was going to be there as well but he had a health problem a couple of months ago

01:27 so he had to travel to the States and he stayed there to recover.

01:31 So it was sad but in a way, it was just more of a formality that he was going to be there.

01:40 But he was there even not physically but he was with us on the phone.

01:44 He was very present.

01:45 But my mom, I'm happy that she was there because she likes to dress up and all of that.

01:52 She has a gift.

01:53 Yeah, it was important.

01:55 How's your dad?

01:57 He's much better.

01:58 He just arrived and much, much better.

02:01 So at some point with your family, your parents, every moment is very important.

02:08 So even if he's not there, as long as we're with him, he's happy.

02:14 But I'd love to talk to you about learnings.

02:18 It was very public.

02:21 Was it a saga because people are interested with you and cheers?

02:26 What did you learn from that?

02:28 More for her, I guess, because she's her mom.

02:32 Of course, she's going through more pain for me.

02:36 But I knew from the beginning that it would be all right.

02:40 It was just a matter of time.

02:42 I believed in that.

02:43 I was confident in that.

02:49 Because her family is very normal.

02:52 I mean, it's not that my family is normal.

02:55 But I feel like we have more of a complicated setup.

03:09 I just knew at that time there's a point in your life that you need to choose yourself

03:13 and what makes you happy because you're the one that's going to live your life.

03:16 So I didn't really think that it would be okay.

03:18 But I knew that I chose the right person for me.

03:22 And that eventually, our love story will tell them otherwise.

03:26 Why do you know?

03:28 Maybe because I'm older, I've seen more, I've known more.

03:33 And maybe it's because of my faith and belief that

03:37 you're not doing anything wrong.

03:39 In the end, that's what they'll see.

03:42 Did you know because you understood where they were coming from?

03:49 Yes.

03:50 Overly protective and loving parents.

03:53 Correct.

03:54 Because their discourse was, "We want the best for our daughter."

03:59 It could have been anybody.

04:03 And having said that, it's like it's going to be okay.

04:06 Because it was coming from a place of love of parents.

04:09 Exactly.

04:10 That only I would understand also how they love me and how they want to protect me.

04:17 But I just, you know, I thought of that time.

04:21 It was my turn.

04:22 I've given up a lot of people in my life in the past for their happiness.
