Residents of Peters Village fight have set tp a residents' association to fight ‘extortionate’ service charges on their new-build housing development.

00:08 Peter's Village, it's a new build, and when I first moved in the service charges were

00:12 estimated at about £1,200. I got a letter through the post last week and my latest charge

00:21 is now £2,500. So in three years it's gone up by more than 100%, which is absolutely

00:29 extortionate. And quite frankly I'm just tired of it because we don't know, I don't know

00:34 every time I open my letterbox if I'm going to get another letter asking for more money

00:38 from them. Amongst other things it's lighting and the little walkway between the road and

00:44 my actual house is pitch black. You cannot see a thing, you can't see a hand in front

00:49 of your face until you actually walk through it and approach the first house when their

00:52 automatic light comes on outside. Other than that it's like Mugger's Paradise, you can't
