Former State Department Employee Pleads Guilty to Acting as Agent for Cuba
  • 2 months ago
Victor Manuel Rocha, a 73-year-old naturalized US citizen, has been charged with acting as an agent for communist Cuba for over 40 years. He allegedly secretly supported Cuba and its intelligence efforts against the US while working in the State Department from 1981 to 2002. Rocha later advised the Commander of the US Southern Command, whose area includes Cuba. He is accused of providing false information to maintain his secret status and travel to meet Cuban intel operatives. Rocha admitted to an undercover FBI agent that he had served as a Cuban mole for decades.
