00:09 We are in politics because we have something to do.

00:13 For example, there is one person who wants to run.

00:16 Whatever the elective position,

00:18 be it a barangay captain, mayor, or whatever,

00:21 the reason why they will run is because they want to help.

00:25 I am like that. That's why I ran, that's why I joined politics.

00:29 I feel sad for what I see happening.

00:32 It hurts me to see Filipinos suffering.

00:35 I thought, maybe I can do something to help.

00:39 I think that's the right reason why a person should join politics.

00:44 And your interest in history is very, very, very important

00:48 because we have much to learn from history.

00:51 And the history that has been made a long, long time ago

00:54 and the history that's being made now, all of this is important.

00:57 We just have to realize that politics actually is a constant.

01:02 Problem is, now with the technology that we have,

01:05 it's really hard to see what is fake news, what is the truth.

01:09 It's really up to you.

01:11 Don't just read one thing. Read everything.

01:14 My grandmother taught me, she said, "Read anything.

01:18 And you decide what is good and what is not."

01:23 And that's what you have to do.

01:25 That's what history can guide us with.

01:27 Because we have experienced this before.

01:29 Politics is essentially about the human condition.

01:33 It is about an ideology that you hold dear,

01:36 a principle that you will not compromise,

01:38 so that you can help the people,

01:40 so you can be of service to the people.

01:42 Not to yourself, not to your party, not to your family,

01:46 but for the people.
