00:18 and funniest ways to die in Helldivers 2.

00:40 Friendly Fire Friendly Fire is both a blessing and a curse.

00:51 If one of your buddies is being annoying, taking them down is a good way to put them

00:55 back in their place or maybe even open you up to some salty revenge.

00:59 In Helldivers, it can be both.

01:01 However, when it's time to get serious, you can still easily get your teammates killed

01:06 if anyone strays directly into your line of fire.

01:09 If you're not paying attention to where everyone is, don't be surprised if your fit of panic

01:14 causes you to eat your friend's bullets.

01:25 Sentry Fire It isn't just your friend's bullets you

01:34 have to worry about.

01:35 Some of the stratagems you can unlock will let you summon turrets.

01:39 These can be exceptionally helpful when placed in the right spots and give you some additional

01:43 firepower if you find yourself overrun by bugs or robots.

01:47 But remember, Helldivers' claim to infamy is the friendly fire.

01:51 This applies to turrets as well.

01:53 Should you stand in front of a target the turret is aiming at, prepare to be peppered.

02:06 Deploying Mines Speaking of pepper, one of the best and funniest

02:18 stratagems to use is the Anti-Personnel Minefield, or as I like to call it, the Pepper Spray.

02:24 Once deployed, this machine sprays mines in a wide, wide radius.

02:30 Problem is that these mines are so small and blend into most environments so well that

02:34 it can be easy for you and your teammates to run right into one of them if you aren't

02:39 paying close attention.

02:40 What's even more hilarious is when someone forgets you deployed mines and blows themselves

02:45 up on their way to extraction.

02:47 If you use one of these pepper sprays, don't be surprised if you get yelled at later.

03:00 Respawns We are no strangers to spawn fragging.

03:13 Back in the days of Quake, dying because someone spawned on your position was a rare but hilarious

03:18 occurrence.

03:19 In Helldivers 2, you need to watch where you're choosing players to respawn.

03:23 Your troll of a friend might get the bright idea to land right on top of you.

03:27 Sure enough, getting smashed on the head with a helipad will kill you.

03:31 In other words, spawn fragging is back and with more intent and possibility than it ever

03:36 did before.

03:47 Extraction Ships Normally games just shove you out of the way

03:59 when vehicles or objects are on a fixed path and need to reach a certain point you're

04:04 blocking.

04:05 Helldivers 2, as we've seen already, is not like most games.

04:08 When you have waited two minutes for extraction to begin, you better watch your position.

04:13 Getting caught under the hull or wings of the extraction ship will kill you, and if

04:18 everyone has already boarded, then you will be left behind and labeled as failed to extract.

04:32 Getting Max Payne One mechanic that can occasionally come in

04:46 handy is the ability to go prone.

04:48 While this doesn't really give you room to use stealth, it can let you escape from

04:52 a charging enemy.

04:53 Just one problem, this mechanic can bite you in the ass.

04:57 If you go prone while running, you will leap into the air and land on your front or backside,

05:02 and if you manage to leap off a certain height, you will take fall damage and go into a ragdoll

05:09 state.

05:10 What are the chances of you dying from fall damage?

05:12 Well, they are low, given there aren't too many heights to climb and jump from, but if

05:16 you're at low enough health and you do die from leaping off a rock, you have no one to

05:22 blame but yourself.

05:31 Swimming Now, we don't expect every game in the universe

05:42 to let you swim.

05:44 However, this is just ridiculous.

05:46 In one of our missions, we explored one of the many icy areas of the arctic wasteland

05:51 of a planet, Heath.

05:53 We stumbled upon a small pond, to me, that seemed swimmable.

05:57 It took no more than 10 seconds for my guy to drown.

06:01 Yes, swimming for even a fraction of a minute can get you killed.

06:06 What the hell, man.

06:08 A badly placed orbital strike.

06:15 Orbital strikes can really come in handy when clearing nests in one move.

06:19 Thing is that not every one of them is created equally.

06:23 Some are pretty good about concentrating their firepower where you've thrown your beacon,

06:27 others not so much.

06:29 Some orbital strikes, like the orbital 120mm HE barrage, will shoot around the beacon rather

06:36 than the center, or they will shoot at the center and just choose some random spots within

06:41 a certain radius to bombard you with.

06:44 In other words, you're going to want to chuck this beacon as far away from you as possible,

06:49 regardless of what orbital strike you have coming your way.

06:53 Just don't chance it.

07:02 Forgetting to reload.

07:12 Another facet of Helldivers 2 that makes it harder than most shooters is how you reload

07:16 your weapon.

07:17 It is important that you remember to manually reload and make use out of every single bullet

07:22 you have.

07:23 Should you reload while bullets are still in your clip, well, say goodbye to those remaining

07:28 bullets.

07:29 They gone.

07:30 Just imagine the loads of people who blasted through their ammunition during their first

07:33 or second mission and forgot to call in resupply.

07:36 Yeah, there are most likely some people out there who really don't want to admit that,

07:40 but we know you're out there.

07:52 Hell Dive Difficulty.

08:05 In order to unlock missions at the hardest difficulty, you will have to play and beat

08:10 missions on the hardest difficulty available.

08:13 So you will start at easy, then you'll go to medium, which will unlock challenging,

08:17 which will unlock hard, then extreme, suicide, impossible, and finally, hell dive.

08:23 Under this difficulty, enemies are armored to the core.

08:27 Enemies are bigger and hit harder, and you'll be making frequent visits to death's door.

08:32 If you think you can just waltz in with any gun and loadout you feel comfortable with,

08:36 you got another thing coming.

08:38 Buck up, get the best stuff available.
