The increasing popularity of Sport Documentary series

The success of Netflix’s Sunderland ‘Til I Die has seen a new wave of sport docuseries on our screens.

00:07 documentary series. Rivals Amazon Prime entered the market and have created several all-or-nothing

00:14 series on various teams such as Manchester City and Arsenal. They also created a one-off

00:20 series on Newcastle United which premiered in the summer at a large event in the city.

00:29 Some have argued however that the Amazon productions did not encapsulate the support of the clubs

00:35 enough and the ties they have in their communities. There will doubtless be more to come with

00:41 sport creating moments that even Hollywood could not write. Netflix's feel for the fans

00:47 still remains the standard to achieve for all upcoming productions but it is clear that

00:52 these shows draw in large viewing numbers and are big successors on their respective platforms.
