00:03 humor can be defined as tragedy plus time,

00:06 and that's something that's not funny at the time,

00:08 will become funny later.

00:09 Coming up on two years now since my little brother died,

00:12 which obviously was not funny at all at the time,

00:15 and one could argue could never be funny,

00:18 but I have managed to find a way to make it funny,

00:22 'cause that's what he would have wanted.

00:23 He was a comedy writer and a comedy director,

00:26 and his main thing was working with stand-up comics

00:28 to help them take their jokes and turn them into a proper show

00:32 with an arc and a through line,

00:34 and he would want me to take his death,

00:36 make it the arc and the through line of a comedy show.

00:39 So as I tell the audience,

00:41 if you don't laugh at us,

00:43 you're the ones disrespecting the dead.
