Rescue Dog Purrs While Getting Brushed

: "Our dog Koda has been mute from the moment Jeff rescued him (2020). Due to previous abuse and being crated for being very vocal when he was young, we were told he turned mute. The only time he makes his signature 'burrrr' sound is when he's playing, or in this case, overwhelmed with good emotions (this happens when we get home, or before going on car rides). His soft sound doesn't sound pleasant, but he is learning to use his voice all over again in a safe, loving home. He is an Australian Shepherd Husky Mix from Richmond, VA."
