Sarawak police are investigating a report that former Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud was removed from a hospital in Kuching, against medical advice.

State police commissioner Comm Datuk Mancha Ata confirmed on Monday (Feb 5) that a police report was lodged on the matter.

00:30 According to the police report, which has gone viral on social media, Tayyip was allegedly
00:35 taken from the hospital against medical advice by his wife, Toh Puan Raghat Gurdi Tayyip,
00:41 around midnight on February 3.
00:43 The report further alleges that Tayyip was transported in a wheelchair by Raghat's butler
00:48 and bodyguards and then placed into a vehicle at the hospital's main entrance.
00:53 The police have urged the public not to speculate or spread false news about the matter.
