Trump to Appeal $83.3 Million Defamation Decision, Seeks New Legal Representation
  • 3 months ago
Former President Donald Trump suggested on Truth Social Tuesday night that he plans to appeal the decision against him to pay $83.3 million for defaming E. Jean Carroll by a jury while seeking new legal representation following criticism of his attorney Alina Habba. Habba was repeatedly chided by Judge Kaplan and threatened with sanctions for claiming he had an improper bias. Habba filed the bias claims citing a NY Post article on Kaplan previously working at the same firm as Carroll's lawyer. Carroll's attorney denied Habba's bias claims and said she could seek sanctions against Habba.
