Guy quits his corporate job to feed 800 stray dogs a day — and now he's got a plan to save ALL the dogs

01:06 The next step was to find them a lovely home

01:13 Before focusing my life on helping dogs

01:16 I used to work in the corporate world in media back in Ireland

01:19 I had my own company and I loved it

01:22 But then I came to a realisation moment

01:24 I was suffering from really bad depression

01:27 I was an alcoholic

01:28 And one day I ended up in hospital, in ICU

01:31 And I actually almost died

01:32 All I wanted was a bigger home, a new car

01:36 But as I was about to die I realised that none of that stuff really mattered at all

01:40 So I said if I make it through this, all I want to do is save dogs

01:44 I'm a big believer in second chances

01:47 And that's what these animals deserve

01:49 The last 15 months my mornings start at 5.45am

01:58 I'll start by walking my own dogs

02:00 I then go up to the sanctuary to help get the food ready for 800 dogs

02:05 A lady prepares that for me in the local community

02:09 McMuffin and Derek will do the quality check

02:13 And then it's off on my scooter

02:15 Let's get you a nice big portion each

02:20 I'll go and feed 80 or 90 street dogs myself

02:24 And then the other 700 will get fed by a mixture of volunteers that I work with

02:29 I'll then head back to the shelter

02:32 And I take care of any of the dogs who need medication, surgery and any type of vet trips

02:38 There are 500 million street dogs in the world

02:42 My aim is to halve that number in the next 20 years

02:46 I've already sterilised 500 dogs

02:50 I know it's a drop in the ocean, but I have to start somewhere

02:53 I now do 100 dogs a month

02:56 I also started to find home for some of the dogs

03:00 And I really want to re-home more of those in the future

03:03 Luckily the Loveliettes were able to find a home

03:06 And now they are living their absolute best life

03:09 They have a huge outdoor play area

03:12 And lots of siblings to play with that the new family has
