Hip-hop veteran Ma$e is using his platform to weigh in on a controversial issue in the Black community.

The former Bad Boy Records star went to Instagram recently to share what he says is an unpopular opinion about Black men joining street gangs.

Some of the biggest names in hip-hop are openly associated with gangs, from Bobby Shmurda to Lil Durk to Y.G. and more.

Mase has committed to the hashtag “22 days” of speaking his mind on social media, taking on a mix of serious and light-hearted topics.

Since he first walked away from the rap game in 1999, Mase has become a pastor and is currently leading a church in Atlanta.

The platinum-selling artist made a couple of brief comebacks to music over the years, although he has not dropped an album since 2004.
