Lee Pullan & Charles Albert's Fatal Crash @ Spa-Francorchamps 1996 (Aftermath)

The 1996 edition of the 24 Heures de Spa-Francorchamps, third round of the 1996 FMI World Endurance Motorcycle Championship, was marred by the deaths of two men, a competitor and a race marshal.

The accident happened at 07h45 on Sunday, 14 July 1996 morning. Belgian track official Charles Albert ventured onto the track to remove a piece of a motorbike that fallen, lying on the asphalt. He did not notice a British racer, Lee Pullan was coming at full speed on his Kawasaki ZXR-750. Pullan was unable to avoid the marshal, struck him and both men were killed instantly. Reportedly he was traveling at 156 mi/h (251 km/h).

Different accounts showed the unfortunate marshal's name to be Charles Lambert; this has not yet been confirmed.
