The 2015 edition of the Neste Oil Harju Ralli, then a round of the Estonian Rally Championship, was marred by a horrific accident that claimed the lives of two men and a woman.

One of the deceased people was Janek Jelle, 41, well known Estonian rally driver who had pulled out of the rally earlier in the day. With his mechanic Lauri Tamme, 25, and Tamme's girlfried, Triinu Alak, 25, he was spectating the event in the village of Kõrvenurga in Kose municipality, Harju County in northern Estonia, along the route of the ninth and final special stage of the rally.

The accident happened about three kilometers after the start of the ninth special stage "Futura", about 17h00 on Saturday, 30 May 2015. After crossing at high speed a small turn and then a jump, the Renault Clio Ragnotti #29 driven by Sander Sepp-Ants Uustalu went out of control and left the road. The car flipped over several times and ploughed into spectators standing dozens of meters away from the road, killing three of them.

Jelle, Tamme and Alak were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver Sander Sepp and his co-driver Ants Uustalu were taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident.
