Federal Appeals Court Denies Trump's Request to Block Special Counsel's Access to His Twitter Feed
  • 3 months ago
A federal appeals court rejected a request by former President Trump to block Special Counsel Jack Smith from accessing Trump's old Twitter feed for his election interference investigation. The court denied further review of an earlier ruling that allowed Smith to access the data from Twitter, now called X Corp. Four conservative judges dissented and wanted the full appeals court to reconsider, raising executive privilege concerns. Smith obtained Trump's tweets, draft tweets, location data, and direct messages from X despite its efforts to challenge the access.
