Dan Scavino, Trump's longtime aide, told investigators Trump was "just not interested" in doing more to stop the violence. When told then-Vice President Mike Pence had to be rushed to a secure location, Trump responded, "So what?" according to former Trump aide Nick Luna. Scavino said Trump was "very angry" but not at the rioters, rather that the election was "stolen."
