Alex Borstein talks to THR about reuniting with the cast of 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' on the red carpet for the Emmys and reveals she's only seen three episodes of the show.

00:05 Here we are now at the delayed 2023 Emmys, but how does it feel reuniting with the cast

00:11 It all kind of feels like a fever dream.
00:13 It really does.
00:14 Like, I can't believe it was only five, six years ago when we did the pilot, and I can't
00:20 believe we are at the end.
00:22 I can't believe that was a year ago that we finished shooting the finale.
00:26 It's been over a year.
00:29 Yeah, it just feels kind of like a crazy fever dream.
00:32 And I know a year from now, it'll be even more so.
00:35 I'll be like, "Was I really on that show?"
00:38 I have saved watching it.
00:40 I've only seen the first two episodes of Maisel and the last, and I'm going to start watching
00:44 it with my daughter right after the SAG Awards next month.
00:48 As soon as it's all done, I'm going to start watching it.
00:51 I love that.
00:52 That's going to be so amazing to see it through her eyes.

00:55 I'm a little bit nervous now, and I'm far enough away from it to not judge myself harshly.
01:00 Now that some time has passed, is there anything you miss about playing Susie that you're surprised
01:04 that you miss?
01:06 I can't say I'm surprised, but I miss the ability to not edit and just say what you
01:12 want to say and say what you think and not worry about consequence.
01:15 Because it was a time before social media, a time before you could be held to what you
01:20 said forever and ever and ever.
01:23 As I was watching the final season, I was nervous that Midge and Susie were not going
01:27 to reconcile, and I was so happy with how the show ended.
01:30 How did you feel about the ending and what we saw in that final episode?
01:33 Honestly, when we first saw the scripts, I was terrified.
01:36 I was not sure this was a good idea.
01:39 Like the time jumping and age makeup and how do I do that?
01:43 Who is Susie in 20 years?
01:46 That's a lot to think about.
01:48 And then you watch, the finale is what I saw, and you're doing those scenes.
01:52 And it was right.
01:53 Oh my God, it's Amy Sherman-Paladino.

02:12 I was just talking about how I was scared to death when I saw those first scripts of
02:15 the last season because I didn't understand how you could have seen and known it was going
02:20 to work, and it did.
02:22 Well, you don't know.
02:25 And then you think, well, it's Alex, so how bad could it be?
02:31 That takes a lot of chutzpah and balls to say we're going to do this jump around in
02:36 time.
02:37 That was insane.
02:38 I know, but it's the last season.
02:39 You got to do a little, you got to up the game.
02:41 But I think it was very satisfying.
02:43 I think the fans.
02:44 It was the major multiverse.
02:45 Yes.

02:47 It was everything, everywhere, marvelous at once.
