Derbyshire Times talks to residents in Derbyshire about the amount of potholes.

00:00 What do you think about the condition of the roads in Derbyshire and in the area and about the potholes?

00:06 Well I don't think Derbyshire is any worse than Sheffield but they're both bad so you know France is far better.

00:14 And which areas are the worst for the potholes?

00:17 Well the ones at Ten Owers, the one going down towards Baswell on the left hand side.

00:23 There's one on Lounsley Green Road we have to avoid.

00:28 Everywhere you go it's bad. I know budgets are tight but like the NHS we've got to spend some money.

00:38 Roll on the election I say.

00:40 And are there any particular potholes that are quite bad?

00:46 Everywhere. I can't single any single one out but everywhere we go it's something you contend with every day.

00:56 There's not many clear stretches of road without any potholes.

01:00 So I don't know, I don't know what the answer is. I know there's budgets as budgets but I think they've left it to such an extent

01:10 that there's so much to do now rather than keep it on top of it as it happens.

01:14 They've left it too long. It's a major job now.

01:18 I think they should do temporary repairs until they get the time to do the permanent repairs.

01:25 Are there any bad ones that you've seen?

01:27 Yeah, on the way through Glatwell going towards Mansfield it's atrocious.

01:34 Oh I'm very, literally it's been terrible.

01:38 Wherever we go it's been terrible.

01:43 From Mansfield to Chatswood House on the way I nearly damaged my car so deep.

01:54 And the water, they covered them so you don't even see.

02:02 So I can understand that they cannot repair it straight away all this because there are so many.

02:14 Obviously in the near future something needs to be done because they are dangerous.
