Cher’s Son Elijah Blue Allman Is ‘Not Comfortable’ Having Her as Conservator

New court documents exposed that Elijah Blue Allman does not believe a conservatorship is necessary.

00:06 In late December, news broke that pop star Cher is seeking a conservatorship over her

00:10 son, Elijah Blue Allman.

00:13 The legal document seeking the conservatorship claims it is necessary "to protect Elijah's

00:18 property from loss or injury" and because he is "currently unable to manage his assets

00:24 due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues."

00:27 However, in new court documents obtained by People Magazine, Allman is fighting the conservatorship,

00:33 noting that he's struggled with addiction and has not handled money well in the past,

00:37 but is now in AA meetings and finding sobriety.

00:40 The filing from Allman states, "Under no circumstances am I comfortable having my mom

00:45 as my conservator.

00:46 While I understand that my mother, the proposed conservator, believes she is looking out for

00:50 my best interests and I appreciate her love and support, I do not need her unsolicited

00:55 help or support at this time."

00:58 While in court, Cher's lawyers argued that obtaining a conservatorship over Allman is

01:02 nothing short of a "life or death" decision.
