00:04 The first electric vehicle service in Southeast Asia is in the city of George, Penang.

00:07 It's about the same as the Hong Kong Dingding.

00:12 In 1905, George, ruled by the British,

00:15 had the first generation of ghost-driven electric vehicles.

00:17 It was only a year later than Hong Kong.

00:23 The whole journey is about 3.21 kilometers.

00:27 Penang began to introduce ghost-free electric vehicles from London.

00:34 24 cars are operating in Penang.

00:37 the Penang City Council decided to replace electricity with diesel.

00:40 The electric vehicle that has been in service for 56 years

00:41 was officially suspended in 1961.

00:44 There is still a street in Penang called Jalan Trem.

00:47 Although it is a part of the road,

00:48 there are still traces of rail tracks.

00:50 After the government of Penang ruled next year,

00:51 it was discussed several times to restart the electric vehicle service.

00:54 But in the end, there was no news.
