David Haas, you are the main man behind the new look Inverness Hogmanay party. Tell us
00:07
what changes there are this year? Well Neil, we're very excited about the new format for
00:16
what has been a much loved stalwart of the Highland Hogmanay scene for many many years.
00:23
The big changes are is we're starting the party in the centre of Inverness
00:28
with an amazing parade led by fire walkers and drummers seen previously at Inverness Hogmanay
00:37
celebrations. So the party will start in the centre of the city and then it will move to the arena
00:45
and that's where the real party and the real fun begins because with Bruce McGregor and
00:53
friends along with some phenomenal Gaelic support and traditional singers and performers,
01:01
we're going to create a party, a phenomenal party and that is what our events and festivals
01:09
working group wanted to see, our chair the Provost Councillor Glynis Campbell-St Claire and
01:15
we're delivering that vision and looking forward to seeing many many thousands of people enjoy that
01:22
performance whether they want to view it or take part. We're going to have upwards of 15 or 20
01:28
dance masters on site to help people with the routines. I'm sure we'll have some experts
01:34
involved anyway, people coming along who can show others what to do but it's going to be one big
01:39
Highland party. The event is licensed for 5,000 people. 5,000. Can you see how tickets are going
01:46
so far at £12 a head? We're very very encouraged by the response. Many thousands of tickets have
01:51
been sold so far and we're encouraging people to buy their tickets online if they can prior
02:01
to the event to avoid disappointment.
