00:07 some groups of petitioners in the Supreme Court decided to stop it.

00:20 Some groups in the Supreme Court stopped the December 31 deadline for consolidation of the drivers for the PUV modernization program.

00:30 The Petition for Sorcery and Prohibition, various transport groups, and civil society organizations all signed the petition.

00:37 They asked the TRO to fight the deadline set for the beginning of the new year

00:42 and to cancel the drivers for the PUVs that are not yet consolidated on January 1 of the next year.

00:50 The issuances of the DOTR and LTFRB violate many constitutional principles and laws.

01:03 Under our Constitution, everyone has the right to join or not to join an organization or association.

01:13 They are forcing us to join a cooperative that violates their rights.

01:20 In the executive orders issued by the DOTR, the plan is to remove us from our livelihood.

01:27 That's why we are saying that if the government's intention is to fix our public transport,

01:33 why don't the government build its own industry?

01:39 In the petition, they also asked the Department of Transportation and Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board, or LTFRB,

01:46 to declare a violation of the Constitution.

01:54 The petition also included Jeepney operators, drivers and commuters, respondents to the petition, the DOTR, and Secretary Jaime Bautista,

02:05 including LTFRB and its chairman Tiofilo Guadis III. Bautista said they are just following President Bongbong Marcos' orders.

02:13 However, they will be penalized for the Supreme Court's decision.
