00:02 - I met Hayley when we were both studying

00:03 at the University of Cambridge in 2007.

00:07 - I spent many a day, many an early morning

00:09 down by the river.

00:10 - I did university rowing, struggled a little bit.

00:13 I was a bit upset with my exam results.

00:16 - It looked like she wasn't going to continue rowing anymore.

00:18 She was looking for a new sport.

00:21 I kind of encouraged her to have a go at cycling.

00:24 - I don't know where I'd be if Mark hadn't convinced me

00:27 to get on a bike.

00:29 It really has changed my life.

00:30 - I'm Hayley Simmons.

00:32 I'm double elite national time trial champion

00:35 and Commonwealth Games and European Games bronze medalist.

00:39 - I came into it late, pretty unfit, overweight.

00:44 - I got better and better.

00:45 I wanted to get faster and faster

00:47 and things got out of control, I guess.

00:50 - Pick the speed up a bit.

00:52 - When you're a couple and one's coaching the other,
