Dutch lawmaker, Geert Wilders, known for his hardline Islamophobic rhetoric, has once again come out and openly spoke about the challenges he is facing from Islamic extremists. Wilders said that he is not afraid even after having received numerous fatwas from Pakistan and Arab Imams. "I have received numerous fatwas from Pakistan and Arab Imams, but I am not afraid. People in the Netherlands are waking up. Are they calling us racists? In the Netherlands and other European countries, natives are discriminated against because houses are given to asylum seekers. Who is racist? We are very angry!," Netherlands next Prime Minister said.

00:00 Dutch lawmaker Heerth Wilders, known for his hardline Islamophobic rhetoric, has once again
00:11 come out and openly spoke about the challenges he is facing from Islamic extremists.
00:17 Wilders said that he is not afraid even after having received numerous fatwas from Pakistan
00:23 and Arab Imams.
00:25 "I have received numerous fatwas from Pakistan and Arab Imams, but I am not afraid.
00:31 People in the Netherlands are waking up.
00:33 Are they calling us racists?
00:35 In the Netherlands and other European countries, natives are discriminated against because
00:40 houses are given to asylum seekers.
00:43 Who is racist?
00:44 We are very angry," Netherlands next Prime Minister said.
00:48 Heerth Wilders has won a massive election victory in the Netherlands and is in poll
00:53 position to form the next ruling coalition and possibly become the country's next Prime
00:58 Minister.
00:59 His party for freedom PVV is projected to win 37 seats according to the latest estimates,
01:05 well ahead of their nearest rival, a left-wing alliance.
01:09 Wilders, a prominent figure in Dutch politics, has faced numerous challenges including death
01:15 threats from Islamic extremists and legal troubles for insulting Moroccans.
01:22 Despite being banned from entering Britain in 2009, his political career had seen a resurgence
01:27 with his electoral trump.
01:30 Wilders was involved in a controversy yet again when an unverified video of him surfaced
01:35 on social media recently.
01:37 In the video, Wilders is heard urging Muslims who prioritise the Quran over the secular
01:43 laws of the country to leave.
01:45 He said, "I have a message for all the Muslims in the Netherlands who do not respect our
01:50 freedom, our democracy and our core values, who find the rules of the Quran more important
01:56 than our secular laws."
01:58 Wilders had earlier defended Nupur Sharma for her controversial comments on Prophet
02:04 Mohammed during a television show last year, which drew condemnation from the Gulf countries.
02:11 Nupur Sharma had made those remarks in connection with the brutal murder of a tailor in Rajasthan's
02:16 Udaipur by two Muslim men.
02:18 Wilders criticised the statement released by the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation
02:22 (OIC) slamming India after Nupur Sharma made anti-prophet remarks.
02:28 He previously linked the Quran to Adolf Hitler's main camp, saying both books should be banned.
02:34 Apart from supporting Nupur Sharma, Wilders also hailed the Indian government's decision
02:39 to scrap Article 370 and 35(a) in Jammu and Kashmir in 2019.
02:45 Regardless, Wilders remains a formidable force in Dutch politics.
02:50 A member of the House of Representatives since 1998, he is set to become the longest-serving
02:56 lawmaker later this year.
02:59 With a history of hardline politics, he has also demonstrated a softer side by thanking
03:04 his wife, Christina, for her support during the election night.
