00:16 Tears of Kitchen, tell us a little bit about your business.

00:19 Yes, absolutely.

00:21 We do professional development training and personal development coaching.

00:26 So Tears of Motivates is a hybrid service.

00:29 So we go into organizations and provide training and development for leaders and for the employees.

00:35 So leadership consulting, employee training and development, but there's also another

00:40 side that's the hybrid approach where we do women empowerment and we have online courses

00:45 to serve women who are in leadership positions and who want to elevate themselves and evolve

00:50 and grow so that they can really live their full potential, not just in the workplace

00:54 but personally as well.

00:56 What inspired you to pick Tears of Motivates?

00:58 My own life story.

00:59 You know, I remember being in my early 20s and had low self-esteem and I knew that's

01:05 not the way I was supposed to feel.

01:08 There was something different that needs to manifest in my life.

01:11 So I went on a journey of self-help and from that experience of listening to people like

01:16 Oprah Winfrey, Tony Robbins and all the greats, I had developed a passion for developing people.

01:23 So that's the essence of Tears of Motivates.

01:25 We are the source of people development.

01:28 So what challenges did you face growing up in this town?

01:31 Yeah, when I was experiencing my own low self-esteem, self-doubt, imposter syndrome, asking myself

01:39 do I belong here?

01:40 Why am I here?

01:41 And thinking the people who were successful were special.

01:45 But then when I discovered who I truly am and the impact that I can make and the talents

01:50 and the gifts and the personality that I have, once I became in tune with that, I realized

01:55 it's not about me not being better than someone else or being less than someone else.

02:00 It's just about me tapping into my power, my potential, understanding what it is that

02:04 I have to offer the world.

02:06 And so I take that from my own learning.

02:09 I always say from my life journey to yours, impart that teaching and that learning to

02:14 other people in their lives, in the boardroom, but also outside of the boardroom.

02:18 Whether it's retreats or conferences or if I'm being a keynote speaker.

02:23 So what is the behind the mask of being an entrepreneur?

02:27 Great question.

02:28 I was just having this conversation earlier.

02:32 You initially go through the process of asking yourself, can I actually do this?

02:37 Can I actually sustain a lifestyle with being in business on my own?

02:42 That's a very important piece.

02:43 And so I had to overcome that process.

02:46 And then the next thing is carrying out the vision that I have.

02:50 I trust myself.

02:51 I know what I'm great at.

02:52 I know what I can bring to my community and the people who hire me.

02:56 And so being able to make sure I make impact and when I have a vision, being able to carry

03:01 it out.

03:02 And so being able to overcome those two things have been so critical in me being able to

03:07 be successful in my business and create the outcomes that I am creating for the people

03:12 who trust me to serve them.

03:14 What's something that you wish you knew before you started this business?

03:20 Boy, let me think about that.

03:25 You know, networking is so important.

03:27 That's why this event is powerful and it's necessary.

03:33 Your relationships open doors, period.

03:36 The connections you have are so necessary for growth.

03:41 When I started my business, when I went out on my own four years ago, I was able to reconnect

03:47 with my network from when I was doing my nine to five.

03:50 I had already established a relationship with people, a respectful relationship.

03:55 I already had credibility and that was essential for me being able to do what I'm doing now

04:00 in my own business.

04:01 I proved myself when I was working the nine to five.

04:05 People trusted me.

04:06 And so because they trust me, they're willing to hear what I have to say.

04:10 They're willing to give me a seat at the table to see what I'm offering.

04:14 And then once I have them at the table, here's another thing you need to know.

04:17 How to sell yourself, how to communicate your service, how to be persuasive and show outcomes

04:23 and bring data to the table so that though we have a relationship, they want to help

04:28 me but once they have a conversation with me and they see I have something to offer

04:31 that's tangible, that's when you get the hire.

04:34 So developing all those skills over the years have been critical for where I'm at today

04:39 and where I'm going.

04:40 And is this some of the stuff you're teaching?

04:41 Yes, girl, you got it.

04:42 Yes.

04:43 Yes, yes, yes.

04:47 How have you seen progress in those three top topics?

04:55 An awakening, a growth in consciousness, a freedom of self-expression, coming outside

05:02 of the box.

05:04 I have a leadership program that's called the Conscious Caring Leader.

05:07 We call it CCL4.

05:09 The four is for four requirements that we teach so that someone evolves and becomes

05:14 a conscious caring leader.

05:16 The first one is that you must be a free thinker.

05:18 If you want to be a conscious leader, you have to come outside of the box.

05:22 The next one is to be self-aware.

05:25 Know yourself, know your triggers, know your emotions, know your strengths, know where

05:31 there's opportunities to grow.

05:33 The next one is to be solution-focused.

05:35 Too many leaders are stuck on the problem.

05:38 We need to be focused on where is there opportunity even in the challenge.

05:44 And then the last one is being influential.

05:47 Whatever you learn, you must pay it back.

05:50 Being influenced for others so that they can grow and become conscious caring leaders.

05:54 So when I talk about outputs and what is the impact of the work we do, we're developing

05:59 free thinkers.

06:00 We're developing leaders who are solution-focused.

06:04 We're developing people who are becoming more consciously aware of themselves and tapping

06:08 into their power.

06:09 We're developing people who are influential in making a change in their community.

06:14 That's how we change this world.
