After defeating Sawtooth in the end, Richie is declared the winner and sent on a purported world tour. The dark traditions of the community are eventually exposed. When Richie's father discovers the truth, he makes the decision to destroy the village in order to break the cycle of sacrifice. As the narrative comes to an end, Richie—who is now a part of the cycle—is getting ready to burn down the town.
