Congratulations, you're Grace Hoodless and you're from the Douglas Call Union and you won the
00:04
Isle of Man Post Office Nurturing Our Arts, Culture and Heritage Award. Tell us a bit about the Douglas
00:11
Call Union first. Yes, so we're a theatre society and charity on the Isle of Man and we've been
00:17
going for 128 years now. So we do yearly shows on the island at the Gator Theatre but we also run
00:26
lots of our charity endeavours as well. So we have some, we have bursary recipients, we pay for
00:32
students to go away to go to the UK to pursue their dreams of being in theatre but we also run
00:39
choirs for the community who probably wouldn't necessarily want to do the shows at the theatre
00:47
but also want to be part of the music and culture on the island. So we have, so we just recently
00:55
celebrated our 125th year and so we did a lot of events and such so we're just trying to kind of
01:02
carry on that now and basically look after our members and retain them because they're our
01:07
future basically. And how many members do you have? We have over 100 members starting from probably
01:13
seven years old up until yeah 90s probably. What does winning mean to you? So much, we've obviously
01:22
been going for so long now that we've had so many past committee members and this is kind of them,
01:28
for them because obviously they've done a lot for the society and we just want to carry that on now
01:33
as current committee members. Thank you very much. Congratulations.
01:38
Thank you.
