Federal government rushes legislation into parliament after High Court immigration decision

A group of more than 80 people released from immigration detention in the past week will face mandatory one year sentences if they breach new visa provisions. Parliament just passed legislation giving the home affairs minister the power to impose tougher visa conditions on the group including curfews and electronic monitoring.
