00:00 (upbeat music)
00:03 - We got next game up.
00:04 It's the Sunday night game here, Mark.
00:07 Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets.
00:11 16 to 12, that was the Raiders on top.
00:15 The pick 'em price tag is what we could call it.
00:17 35 and a half, the total.
00:20 Game stays under.
00:21 Raiders win.
00:22 What'd you take away from Las Vegas, Nevada?
00:24 (Mark sighs)
00:27 - Well, why do I watch the Jets?
00:29 Why do I bet on the Jets?
00:30 Why do I ever think the Jets might actually
00:32 be able to do something competent?
00:34 It's bad, man.
00:36 I mean, that's just,
00:37 and I'm telling you, I'm gonna go back
00:40 and I'm gonna put more of this on the coaches.
00:41 I just, they're trying to run
00:44 an Aaron Rodgers offense with Zach Wilson.
00:46 I mean, you can't drop a Honda Civic engine
00:50 into a Ferrari and think it's gonna go the same.
00:53 It just doesn't work that way.
00:55 So I put a lot more of this on the coaching staff.
00:58 They do not, it doesn't look like they try
01:00 to scheme anything for Zach Wilson.
01:01 It really doesn't.
01:02 I think they just ask him to run the offense
01:04 that they have and believe he's confident enough
01:06 to do it, and he's not.
01:08 Slat out not.
01:09 He's a bad decision maker at the position.
01:11 And when you have a bad decision maker at quarterback
01:13 and you have no other recourse,
01:14 your job as a coaching staff is to limit
01:15 the amount of decisions he can make
01:17 and limit the amount of mistakes he can make.
01:19 And the Jets offensive staff clearly does not do that.
01:22 Period.
01:23 - All fair points.
01:27 I do feel like, you know, with this type of defense
01:32 that the Jets have, one of the best defenses
01:34 in the NFL, in my opinion, you know,
01:36 we talked about it earlier on the show in the in-game live.
01:40 This offense with Aaron Rodgers not back there
01:43 and Zach Wilson's rushing ability,
01:45 he needs to run the football more.
01:47 It would open up so much more offensively for the Jets,
01:50 not to be one of the top offenses in the NFL,
01:53 but at least to move the football,
01:54 move the chains down the field.
01:57 - Oh man, this was a tough one,
01:58 especially 'cause I bet the Jets Sunday night football,
02:01 you know, singled out game,
02:02 gotta have something I feel like in this business.
02:05 And to watch them go down like this when,
02:07 you know, they had the lead,
02:08 it was a field goal fest early,
02:09 they did give up the touchdown
02:10 and that ended up being the difference maker.
02:13 But man, if I'm a Jets coach,
02:15 that's one thing I would work on with Zach Wilson.
02:17 You know, at one point he had two rushes for 40 yards,
02:21 a 20 yard average, and he's not running the ball enough,
02:24 Mark, I don't know.
02:25 Or you agree with me?
02:27 - I don't, again, I don't disagree with you.
02:29 I just, I don't,
02:30 he's such an incompetent thrower of the football,
02:33 it's not enough for you to win a game.
02:35 Gotta be able to complete passes.
02:37 You've gotta be able to move the ball down the field,
02:39 especially in the spot at the end of the first half,
02:42 or at the end of the game, if you're trailing,
02:43 you've gotta be able to execute passes forward
02:46 in front of the line of scrimmage
02:47 and put your team in position to win a game.
02:49 And every time that dude drop backs the throw,
02:51 it is a comedy of errors and a wide variety
02:55 of options of things that can happen.
02:58 And I said to our producers,
03:00 I don't understand why they allow him
03:02 to throw the ball in the middle of the field,
03:03 because that dude is gonna get picked
03:05 every time he goes in the middle of the field.
03:07 Because he telegraphs what he's gonna do,
03:08 he stares down receivers, and when he gets off a read,
03:12 you can tell he's just lost the entire grip of the play.
03:15 Everything for that guy has gotta be outside
03:18 of the sideline, so if he misses, it goes out of bounds.
03:23 And the Jets were driving, and they got picked,
03:26 because again, he tried to throw something
03:27 towards the middle of the field inside the numbers,
03:29 linebacker read his eyes the whole way,
03:31 stared down the receivers, broke on the ball,
03:33 stepped right in front of it.
03:33 I mean, it was as easy to figure out
03:36 as doing a puzzle of a three-year-old.
03:39 Put these squares in order.
03:41 I mean, it's not elementary stuff.
03:44 - You did finish with 263 yards,
03:48 costly interception there.
03:49 Josh Jacobs, 27 carries, 116 yards
03:53 for the Raiders leading the way.
03:54 Garrett Wilson, the receiver there for the Jets,
03:57 nine receptions for 93 yards.
04:00 And again, guys, the Raiders win 16 to 12,
04:03 game closed near the Pickham Price from Las Vegas, Nevada.
04:07 Did look like good atmosphere there in Allegiant Stadium.
04:10 But yeah, that's Sunday night football for you.
