Vivek Ramaswamy Slams Ukraine's President as 'Comedian in Cargo Pants' In Third GOP Primary Debate
  • 6 months ago
Five Republican presidential candidates took the stage in Miami on Wednesday night for the third debate of the 2024 GOP primary cycle, with pressure mounting and time running out to shake up the race. Nikki Haley's abortion tone sounded more moderate than her rivals' views on the issue, which has been a major focus after the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Vivek Ramaswamy called Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy "a comedian in cargo pants" and slammed continued funding of the war in Ukraine. Haley replied by criticizing Ramaswamy's stance, saying Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping were "salivating at the thought that someone like that could become president.” Donald Trump plans on skipping the next, fourth debate of Republican nomination contenders next month in Alabama.
