British tourists driven out of Amsterdam following ‘stay away’ campaign
  • 6 months ago
The dramatic adverts realeased by the city’s council display the scene of a British lad stumbling across the streets of Dam at night in a drunken brawl with police, then having his fingerprints and mug shots taken. They also threaten that a messy night could result in 140 euro fine and a criminal record. Amsterdam is one of the world’s most visited cities, hosting 20 million tourists a year, a million of those are British holiday makers. Embarrassingly, that 5% of visitors cause the most damage to the historic city.
