00:00 Can you tell who this is meant to be?
00:02 Eulers sign, Eulers camera and road signs.
00:06 It's meant to be the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.
00:10 Here in Edenbridge they do bonfire night a little differently.
00:13 While they stick with the 400 year old tradition of fireworks and parading an 11 metre tall
00:18 guy forks through the town, they also pick on a celebrity or politician who's been hitting
00:23 the headlines and they make an effigy of them as well.
00:27 It's a tradition they've hosted since the 90s.
00:30 Locals this year have voted for Mayor Khan to be their victim after his controversial
00:34 decision to expand London's ultra low emission zones into Kent.
00:38 I think for the first time that we've been holding this event and creating these effigies
00:42 that there's actually something that is right on our doorstep.
00:45 So it affects the livelihoods of businesses in Edenbridge, of residents who need to visit
00:49 relatives, people who perhaps do it giving care and the border literally is just about
00:55 20 minutes from the edge of our town.
00:57 So that's why people have been so passionate about it and why they voted for us to go in
01:02 this direction.
01:03 This Saturday the mock Mayor Khan will be paraded through Edenbridge before going up
01:07 in flames, an event which looks to raise thousands for local charities.
01:12 The current artist has been picking on celebrities for the past seven years and she says it's
01:17 all in the detail.
01:19 So we always research about the person and we think what would be suitable putting on
01:24 the artwork because we want to point out what are the things that he is in a bad press for.
01:31 Obviously the camera is the main thing to do because it's impacting our community actually.
01:36 Obviously the big sign of ULESS and then what else we've got, we've got the bedbugs, that
01:41 was a bit of a fun thing to do.
01:43 He's in a white suit because he's trying to protect himself from the bedbugs on the Victoria
01:48 Line.
01:49 52% of those who voted this year wanted Mayor Khan but other close contenders included Russell
01:54 Brand, Philip Schofield and Sweller Braverman.
01:58 Previous years the Bonfire Society has picked on Liz Truss, Boris Johnson and Donald Trump.
02:04 Sadiq Khan was approached and declined to comment.
02:07 Earlier this year we saw Sadiq Khan coming under fire when he expanded London's ultra
02:12 low emission zones into Kent, something that was widely condemned by residents and businesses
02:17 but he didn't listen to their protests so now the Mayor of London really will come under
02:21 fire this weekend at Eden Bridge's bonfire night.
