Plans to close ticket offices across a number of railway stations have been scrapped. The proposals had proven controversial with unions saying 75 jobs would be lost in Merseyside alone. The U-turn means all of Liverpool City Region's ticket offices have been spared.

More than £10m could be spent to increase electric vehicle charging capacity across the Liverpool City Region. Subject to approval by the region's Combined Authority, the investment could go into boosting the on-street charging network helping households to access charge points.

Liverpool's Royal Court Youth Theatre is holding a month-long amnesty for musical instruments in November. From violins to, trombones and triangles, unwanted instruments are being collected. They will be donated to the young people of the Youth Theatre.
